Iris is a feminine given name derived from the Greek Ιρις, meaning "rainbow." Iris was the Greek goddess of the rainbow. The word is also used to refer to the iris, a part of the eye, and to the genus of flower called the iris. Photo was taken in the "Hope and Memory Garden" in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The garden is dedicated to people with cancer.
